Upcoming Free CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) Program When a disaster strikes, do you know what to do before professional help arrives? The Hayward Fire Department is providing a free CERT Training Program which will consist of four evening indoor classes and one outdoor "hands on" skills class. Participants learn skills that will enable them to provide emergency assistance to their families and immediate neighbors as well as organize a neighborhood team response. Training will begin during the month of October, 2015 at City Hall. Dates and times are as follow: - Class #1, Monday, October 5th, 6-9:30pm @ Hayward City Hall
- Class #2, Monday, October 19th, 6-9:30pm @ Hayward City Hall
- Class #3, Monday, October 26th, 6-9:30pm @ Hayward City Hall
- Class #4, Monday, November 2nd, 6-9:30pm @ Hayward City Hall
- Skills #5, Monday, November 9th, 6-9:30pm (Fire Station #6 W. Winton)
You must attend all classes in order to receive certification. CERT training is for all City of Hayward and Fairview residents. Residential verification will be required during the final application process and all applicants must be 18 years-of-age or older. Residents who are interested in this free training can sign-up by sending their name, phone number and address by email to Hayward.CERT@hayward-ca.gov. Space is limited. Successful applicants will receive notification by email acknowledging enrollment into the program and further directions.
