NRCS Soil Scientist Skye Wills wants farmers to realize their farms' full production potential by understanding more about the dynamic properties of soil. Reducing and eliminating tillage, cover crops and diverse cropping rotations influence soil properties today, she says, "Soil properties today influence what you're going to be able to do tomorrow."

Wills says in the context of weather, market and input cost variabilities, farmers have the most opportunities and the best production potential with well-managed soils. Watch the three-minute video. It's science you can really dig!
